Position Overview:
AEC is seeking motivated individuals that are interested in 2025 summer employment as Seasonal Herbicide Applicators, Authorized Assistants, and Spray Labourers working throughout the Grande Cache, Grande Prairie, Hinton, and Jasper area. These positions involve working outdoors, travelling to remote areas, potentially living out of town, and vegetation management activities (herbicide application, mowing, planting, etc.) for our client’s project locations. AEC will provide a competitive wage and subsistence as required. Reporting to the Field Lead, Operations (or designate), individuals will be responsible for assisting with identifying weeds, the removal and control of weeds, and the mixing and application of herbicides manually or mechanically. Herbicide Applicators will be required to mentor Authorized Assistants and spray labourers. Authorized assistants will be required to mentor spray labourers. Other vegetation management activities (e.g., mowing, trimming, planting) may be required.
Job Duties:
- Read maps and travel to leases, navigating oilfield and LSD Locations using GPS.
- Work extended hours as required, depending on weather conditions.
- Mix and apply herbicide to oil lease sites, roadsides, gas plants and reclaimed areas using ATV sprayers as well as backpack application.
- Applicators are required to complete and submit daily reports accurately.
- Communicate effectively with clients and coworkers.
- Operate, service and maintain pesticide application equipment, including loading/unloading skid spray units.
- Perform mechanical and manual weed control tasks.
- Record work details, including materials used, weather conditions, and locations.
- Perform other related duties as required.

- Certified Industrial Applicator certificate.
- Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver abstract.
- H2S, Standard First Aid, TDG, WHMIS, CSTS, CSO certifications are assets, but training can be provided.
- Experience in operating an ATV/UTV is an asset.
- Knowledge of pesticides and weeds.
Authorized Assistants
- Authorized Assistant certificate.
- Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver abstract.
- H2S, Standard First Aid, TDG, WHMIS, CSTS, CSO certifications are assets, but training can be provided.

- Paid Training days (Training Wage).
- $21.02-$32.79 per hour dependant on experience and position type.
