INTERNAL/EXTERNAL APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Position Overview:

Aseniwuche Development Corporation (ADC) is seeking applications from internal candidates who are eager to learn and work in the trades industry to apprentice and become a fully certified Journeyperson Automotive Technician.

Duties:

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Project and Procurement Manager, have the ability to work under close direction of the Automotive Service Technician.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Review work orders and perform automotive services in accordance with scheduled work orders and the standards of the apprenticeship program.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance services on internal fleet and light equipment and their attachments, such as oil changes, cleaning, lubrication, tire repair/changes etc.
  • Requisition parts to be ordered to the responsible clerk, as required.
  • Advise appropriate clerk, in writing, on work performed, general vehicle condition, and future repair requirements.
  • Assist with administrative duties related to maintenance, such as:
  • Assist in preparing maintenance schedules
  • Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies
  • Maintain maintenance and repair logs and records
  • Inventory tracking

Qualifications:

Qualifications/Pre-requisites:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong interest in automotive mechanics/mechanical aptitude
  • Willingness to learn and work
  • Effective communication and reading skills
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License

 The following minimum education requirements:

  • Math 20-3
  • English 20-2
  • Science 100

Or equivalent or Entrance Exam

**If the prospective does not have the following education requirements, they must complete the required upgrading within the six-month term and challenge the entrance exam to be accepted into the apprenticeship program. **
